Erika and Neil’s love story started when they met in residency at the University of Virginia. It started off as a simple friendship, but when Neil realized that his feelings for Erika were deeper he knew he had to do something about it. In December of 2015, he asked her out on their first date, and their relationship blossomed from there.
In March 2017, they went apartment hunting in Nashville, TN in anticipation for Neil’s move for his fellowship. After a full day of looking for the perfect place, they took a sunset stroll near downtown Nashville. Little did Erika know, Neil was about to ask her the most important question he’ll ever ask her. All the words that he had rehearsed in his head went out the window as he blubbered his feelings of love to Erika and got down on one knee. He asked her to marry him, and she said, “YES!”
Erika and Neil’s wedding at The Springs in Conroe was just as unique as it was beautiful. On Friday night, they started off with a pre-celebration called a Garba/Sangeet, which is a traditional dance where both sides of the family come together. The day of the wedding Neil did a traditional Baraat where he came in on a horse clad in intricate Indian garments. His entire family singing and dancing in front of him as they made their way to the alter. Their Indian and Christian wedding was a beautiful collaboration with both sides coming together to share their values and cultures.
We had such an amazing time with Erika and Neil for their wedding along with their families!
